The survival game Survival: Fountain of Youth from developer Odinsoft and publisher Twin Sails Interactive is set on the Caribbean islands of the 16th century and hoists its sails today in Early Access on Steam. PlayStation and Xbox versions will appear concurrently with the full launch at a later date.
What started as the legendary 16th-century expedition to the Fountain of Youth by Juan Ponce de Leon ends disoriented on an uncharted island after a terrible storm. Shipwrecked and short on resources, players must find shelter, gather water and food, while staying healthy as disease and danger await.

There are two major regions to travel in Survival: Fountain of Youth Early Access. Two major content updates with new regions and islands will follow during Early Access. A fifth region will appear at 1.0 and console launch.
Players collect materials to construct a range of weapons and tools: from simple spears to black powder muskets, from a simple shelter to cozy cabins. The further development of talents gives survival points that unlock useful aids. Survival and eventual escape from the island requires extensive planning and preparation. Still, wild animals and tropical storms can throw a spanner in the works.
With a range of seaworthy vehicles, new islands and areas are explored. The primitive raft can be upgraded to the great Spanish ship to travel the seas. Ships serve as a floating base. Alternatively, players can set up camp on different islands to enable longer exploration missions that uncover secrets and clues to the story experience. Survival: Fountain of Youth offers both player-driven adventure and story-driven missions. So everyone can play the way that suits them best.
The Odinsoft and Twin Sails Interactive teams are big fans of the survival genre, as well as the setting and story behind Survival: Fountain of Youth. Due to the complexity of the choices and interactions they want to offer players, teams want to use the Early Access period to improve the experience through player feedback. Today's launch is the start of a journey: content and features will be added regularly and bugs fixed as soon as they are discovered. Odinsoft and Twin Sails Interactive look forward to the valuable feedback in the Early Access phase and will incorporate ideas and concepts from the community.
"Survival: Fountain of Youth blends a historical setting with open-ended survival mechanics to create a challenging and rewarding experience for those who love exploration," said Stas Ignatov, Head of Publishing at Odinsoft. "Early Access is an adventure in itself and we look forward to this journey, together with players, on Steam."
Survival: Fountain of Youth is available now on Steam Early Access for $22,99. The game is available in English, German, French, Russian and Simplified Chinese.
