Asmodee and Atomic Mass Games have announced Star Wars: Shatterpoint, a new miniatures game with a focus on skirmishes. The Shatterpoint Game is scheduled to be released in June 2023, with pre-orders scheduled to start at the beginning of the year.
Atomic Mass Games, Asmodee's in-house miniatures studio, is adding another Star Wars board game to the catalogue. This time it's all about fast-paced action with well-known and popular characters on the battlefield.

In Star Wars: Shatterpoint, fans build an attack team and use them to control the fate of the battles. According to the publisher, you will be able to fall back on legendary ones Star Wars-Characters and battle locations. In a short teaser, Atomic Mass Games already shows some of the available characters, including Darth Maul, General Grievous, Ahsoka, Anakin Skywalker and Obi Wan Kenobi. The selection of Jedi, Sith and other foot soldiers seems to be growing.
You will build up personal combat squads from the available units. The miniatures are also suitable for hobbyists and painters, as you can see Star Wars: Legion - or in this case better Marvel Crisis: Protocol - knows. According to product manager Will Shick, the style of the game is based on comics from the eighties and nineties. The aim of the game is to appeal to both board game fans and newcomers - the focus is therefore on fast, rather uncomplicated tactical battles.
Before the first blaster shot is fired, a squad must be assembled. The Star Wars: Shatterpoint Game invites players to experiment. You can create thematically appropriate combinations of combat troops, such as Lord Maul and his super commands, but you can also go your own creative way to set up a unit that is as powerful as possible. As a direct result, the heroes and villains will probably each have different and unique abilities and efficient synergies can be used. The aim of each game is to complete a specified mission.
“The design and development of the miniatures game Star Wars: Shatterpoint is our love letter to the excitement and energy of being a kid on a Saturday morning,” said Will Shick. According to Shick, action, adventure and the iconic characters are the focus. He is enthusiastic about the team's creative work and the collaboration with Lucasfilms.
