Frontier Foundry, the games label of Frontier Developments, unveils the expansion pack Warhammer 40.000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters - Duty Eternal in collaboration with Warhammer 40.000 creator Games Workshop.
The DLC for the acclaimed turn-based tactical RPG arrives on PC on December 6th and adds exciting new missions, a brand new class and the fearsome Venerable Dreadnought Combat Walker to the campaign, among others. The expansion will be available on both Steam and the Epic Games Store for a suggested retail price of $14,99. A free update containing new enemy types will also be available to all players on December 6th.
The outbreak of the technophages
The Technophage outbreak is at the heart of Warhammer 40.000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters - Duty Eternal. With the arrival of this new strain of bloom, the Gray Nights are tasked with helping the Adeptus Mechanicus stop the spread of space. The new mission variant, Technophage Breakout, is the most challenging in the game to date. It mixes the standard maps and objectives with a higher number of buffs, new Warp Surge conditions, and harsher consequences for failure. However, the potential rewards are also much greater.
Fortunately, additional firepower is available to commanders in Duty Eternal to quell the escalating Nurgle threat. The Venerable Dreadnought - an addition that has been widely requested by players since launch - will be available to Commanders at the start of a new campaign. This battle-walker will be playable as the fifth member of the Gray Knights squad once a Technophage Outbreak-themed mission appears in the campaign. Like the other Gray Knights, the Dreadnoughts can be outfitted with a variety of unlockable weapons to suit the player's tactical needs.

Warhammer 40.000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters - Duty Eternal also introduces an entirely new base class: the Techmarine. This new addition to the Baleful Edict Barracks can deploy and control a cadre of Combat Servitors, who join the Gray Knights on the battlefield as more expendable allies. These are each equipped with a specific ability that serves a specific purpose in combat. The Techmarine can repair or bolster the Combat Servitors and the venerable Dreadnought during a mission, offering a support role to the rest of the squad.
New strategic features
The new features in Duty Eternal also extend to the strategic level of the game. At the beginning of the campaign, players who own this expansion will have the opportunity to liberate and command the frigate Gladius. This second battleship greatly extends the Gray Nights' range in the Tyrtaeus sector. Aboard the Baleful Edict, Commanders will deploy squads on the Gladius Frigate and send the ship across space to hit the bloom in places the Edict can't reach in time. These encounters then automatically resolve off-screen. The risks and rewards are comparable to completing a standard mission in the campaign.
Warhammer 40.000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters - Duty Eternal continues Complex Games' ambition to create the ultimate turn-based tactical RPG set in this universe, greatly increasing the replay value and scope of the campaign.
Warhammer 40.000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters - Duty Eternal requires the base game in order to play. Warhammer 40.000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters is available for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store at a suggested retail price of €44,99 for the standard version and €54,99 for the Castellan Champion Edition.
