Two family games from Deep Print Games are expected to be released in mid-June in exclusive distribution by Pegasus Spiele: In the 3D puzzle game Lumicora, players let corals grow in an underwater world; the second edition of the family game Triqueta combines the basic game with the expansion Hidden Wolves. The Juicy Fruits expansion Mystic Island is also already available.
The sea shines in bright colors, but the shimmering organisms that make the coral reefs glow are under threat: their habitat has declined significantly in recent decades and it is the players' job to rebuild it. In Lumicora by Rita Modl, two to four players create a living three-dimensional coral reef, layer by layer.
To do this, they place different colored coral tiles - the Luminos - on their constantly growing reef and try to attract as many sea creatures as possible. The players must always keep an eye on their limestone supply: the reef can only grow in width on limestone. Those who plan cleverly and place skillfully can collect points for one of the four coral species at the end of each round. At the end of the game, reefs on which many sea creatures have settled are rewarded with additional points. Experienced players will find new challenges on the alternative backs of the reef plans.
Lumicora: Family game for underwater fans
Lumicora, the easy-to-play but complex family game, is aimed at underwater fans and three-dimensional thinkers aged ten and over. The profits from the sale of Lumicora will support environmental protection projects, such as the protection of coral reefs, run by the Global Nature Fund. Lumicora will be available at a recommended retail price of 34,99 euros.
The set collection game Triqueta by Stefan Dorra and Ralf zur Linde, published by Deep Print Games in spring 2023, is coming out in a second edition. "Triqueta" refers to the combination of three and so two to five players try to form groups of exactly three stones of the same animal species. To do this, they uncover stones with animal symbols and add them to one of the open rows of stones. Anyone who decides to take a row of stones in time can complete their triquetas with the matching animal symbols and score points. But the balance is delicate: anyone who has collected more stones of an animal species receives negative points for this.
In Triqueta 2nd Edition, which will be available at a recommended retail price of 29,99 euros, the forest animals of the basic game are joined by the wolves of the expansion, which live hidden in the shadows. Triquetas formed from them bring many points, but caution is advised, because other animals are also found among the new shadow stones and can destroy the points of an already completed triqueta. This presents players with new tactical decisions and offers even more excitement and depth of play.
In the family game Juicy Fruits by Christian Stöhr, players grow fruit by moving fruit baskets around their paradise island. The Mystic Island expansion adds three modules to this sliding puzzle, which can be added to the basic game individually or in any combination: Not far from the fruit paradise, players have discovered a mysterious island, which they explore to collect bonus points. Boulders block fields on your own island and must first be cleared away by completing the task shown on them.
Finally, new business tiles - such as restaurants or boat rentals - provide even more opportunities to expand your own island. Mystic Island provides more experienced fruit growers aged eight and over with new, variable challenges and can be purchased at a recommended retail price of 17,99 euros from specialist retailers and online.
