Corax Games have brought Rival Restaurants and its expansion to the Spieleschmiede in order to enable a German edition.
At Rival Restaurants, two to six people take over a restaurant business with unique bonuses and want to make it the most popular in the city. You don't just have to worry about buying ingredients, preparing meals and disposing of waste, you also interact a lot with each other and that can sometimes get pretty loud and nasty.
Play against time
At the start of the round, after everyone chooses which ingredient they want to buy first from the market, the time starts running: Within a minute you can buy as much as you can and want. However, if multiple people want the same ingredient, they bid each other up until one side drops out - or time runs out and everyone involved comes away empty-handed. If you don't want to take part in this rush for the ingredients, you can also buy promotional cards or dispose of the waste while you're at it. Plus, you can swap everything with each other within this minute.
If you think that you can then prepare dishes in peace and quiet (preferably those that match the nationality of your restaurant), you probably don't have much experience in gastronomy. You can sabotage each other with all sorts of nasty attacks and, for example, send a mafia mob over or release rats.
With the extension, global events are also added, one of which comes into effect every other day and for which you can always prepare for a day.
