The eight-part Sky in-house production with the themes of fantasy, love and adventure starts on April 26th and is available exclusively to Sky customers. In addition to many mystical beings, it should above all show great feelings and emotions.
Witches, vampires and demons - and deep emotions
This series focuses on the young historian Diana Bishop (Theresa Palmer from Warm Bodies and Berlin Syndrome, among others), who has the powers of a witch, but does not want to have anything to do with it. She prefers to do alchemy. When she came across a magical book through her research in an Oxford library, some magical beings became aware of her and the book, above all the mysterious and 1500 year old vampire Matthew (Matthew Goode from Downton Abbey, The Crown and Good Wife) . The story develops mysteriously and compellingly into a modern fantasy drama for adults. The focus is not only on the love story between Diana and Matthew, but also on the intermediate world populated by supernatural creatures.
It is based on the All Souls novel series by bestselling author Deborah Harkness. The author also worked as an executive producer on the TV adaptation and, like her main character, is a studied historian. She does a good job of combining fiction with scientific knowledge.
The series will be available from April 26th on the following channels: Sky 1, Sky on Demand, Sky Go and Sky Ticket. It contains 8 following, which will appear in double sequences. If you like the series, you can be happy: Two more seasons have already been confirmed.
