Rumors about a new model of the Nintendo Switch have been circulating for a long time. The Japanese games company hadn't looked into its cards, but now there is an official announcement of a revised Nintendo Switch. Overall, the first details indicate rather minor improvements. The screen has received an obvious upgrade.

Nintendo announced that the Nintendo Switch family will have a new addition on October 8th. The Nintendo Switch as an OLED model is intended to give video game fans another option for playing a huge selection Nintendo Switch-Titles offer. Anyone who would like to take a first look at the new model can already do so in a published announcement trailer.

New switch also in black and white

The new model is roughly as wide and as high as the Nintendo Switch console, but has a larger 7-inch OLED screen with intense colors and high contrast. The Nintendo Switch as a new OLED model also has a wide, adjustable stand for use in table mode, a new station with LAN connection for a stable Internet connection and 64 GB of internal storage. There are also integrated speakers for sound when playing in handheld or table mode.

As with the Nintendo Switch, players can also use the new one Nintendo Switch Play on the TV screen in TV mode. Whether alone or together: simply pull the removable Joy-Con out of the console and start playing.

And like Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite, the OLED model can be taken anywhere. A bag for transport and a protective film for the screen will be available separately.

The OLED model of the Nintendo Switch will appear on October 8th - and thus parallel to the new title from the Metroid series. Metroid Dread also appears that day. The game is the sequel to Metroid Fusion and the latest addition to the 2D Metroid franchise that started with the original Metroid for NES. With the colorful OLED screen, the latest adventure of intergalactic bounty hunter Samus Aran in Metroid Dread will feel even more immersive.

The completely redesigned OLED model enables gaming experiences in the three familiar modes: TV mode, table mode and handheld.

The Nintendo Switch (OLED model) is placed in the station to Nintendo Switchsoftware to play on the TV screen. By using the integrated LAN port, players can use another connection option to the Internet in TV mode.

The wide, adjustable stand on the back of the console provides a firm and secure stand when folded out. It allows players to adjust the viewing angle as desired and thus allows a good view of the game - regardless of whether you are playing alone or whether you are using the Joy- Con of the console shares and plays together.

Handheld mode: In handheld mode, users can take their console with them wherever they go and experience local or online multiplayer games (with Nintendo Switch Online as a prerequisite) with their friends. The 7-inch OLED screen has an intense color display and high contrast.

The newly released console upgrade could also be an advantage for all those who have not yet owned a Nintendo Switch. Due to the more detailed improvements, the old model could be offered significantly reduced.
