NBA 2K23: New Game Types in My Team

2K provided an in-depth look at new gameplay elements and updates for the MyTEAM component of NBA 2K23, including new maps and rewards, the introduction of Triple Threat Online: Co-Op, and the abandonment of contracts. The annual $250.000 MyTEAM Unlimited Tournament also returns, separately on Playstation 4/Xbox One and Playstation 5/Xbox Series X|S.

“We've implemented some highly anticipated changes to MyTEAM this year that our community really cares about. For example, we are doing without contracts and with Triple Threat Online: Co-Op we are enabling players for the first time to compete online with friends in 3v3 cooperative play,” explains Erick Boenisch, VP of NBA Development at 2K and Visual Concepts. NBA 2K23: Some innovations this year

There are some innovations in NBA 2K23. For the first time in MyTEAM, players can team up with a friend to compete in 3v3 cooperative online matches, whether in party mode, co-op or competitive play.

The brand new prestige levels allow players who have reached the top level to start over and unlock even more rewards. With every victory and every defeat, you earn points for leveling up. Wins also open safes. In addition, the leaderboards are back and show the stats of friends and top players in the 'MyTEAM' community. The names of the players in the top 10 are marked with a special icon. You also get a special symbol for completing all levels and prestige levels of a season.

In the new single player variant of Clutch Time, a fast-paced 4-dot-line mode, players can compete with their best team of five against the AI. Players can choose from All-Stars Ja Morant, Jimmy Butler and Joel Embiid to top off their collection. With their starting card choices, they can then compete in a triple threat match to decide. After playing 10 games in any My Team mode, players will be awarded a 90 Rating Amethyst Fred Jones card to boost their team.

For friendlies, players can now send cards outside of their 13-player lineup on vacation trips around the world to return with a special reward for their mission.

Completing a team's trophy case can earn high-profile players from each franchise. With 15 event maps for each NBA franchise, showcasing key moments in their history, players can earn a 'Pink Diamond' player for each team.

$250.000 is up for grabs again this year in the MyTEAM Unlimited Tournament, this time on both console generations. Anyone who reaches the Emerald level in the new Unlimited before the first GameDay on October 15th can participate. Finalists meet in person to crown the $50.000 Console Champions and $200.000 Grand Champions.

NBA 2K23 is scheduled to launch on September 9th for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC appear.
