Mortal Kombat: Onslaught is the name of the new game that Warner Bros and NetherRealm Studios will release for mobile devices running on Android and iOS operating systems. However, fans will also have to do without the classic fight. The developers are taking a completely different approach.

As per the brief announcement, Mortal Kombat: Onslaught will see players build a team of fighters from the well-known beat 'em up franchise and engage in real-time group battles with them. After all: There will apparently be a background story - as a kind of "overarching narrative".

There, players collect heroes - or parts of them step by step - and put together teams for different game modes with which they then go into battle.
