Monty Python: Adventures in Pen and Paper

Monty Python's Knight of the Coconut tells the story of the quest for the Holy Grail as it really was. Maybe. Soon, role-players will be able to jump right in and experience the story their own way with indie developer Exalted Funeral's Monty Python's Cocurricular Mediaeval Reenactment Program. Maybe. 

Quite a lot of maybe, which is not least due to the fact that the project with the somewhat unwieldy title first has to be beaten through a funding campaign on Kickstarter. Anyway, the preview page is already live, man can reserve the tabletop RPG. The start is scheduled for October. 

RPG for silly persons

Admittedly, you have to have a lot of nuts to dare to go on crazy adventures with the Knights of the Coconut on the gaming table after the grandiose nonsense in film format. That's exactly what the indie studio Exalted Funeral wants as the project founder of the Kickstarter campaign. Previously, among other things, the "Old-School Essentials Fantasy RPG Box Sets" had been successfully realized and the campaign had raised around 800.000 US dollars. 

You should be able to top that with Monty Python's Cocurricular Mediaeval Reenactment Program. The idea of ​​the tabletop role-playing game: you choose as a player from 20 character situations - from pawns to knights, each equipped with five characteristics. A trick: First of all, you need to roll the dice to check how serious – or stupid – the characteristics are in each case. There should also be dark consequences, namely in the case of critical throws. 

You quickly notice that things are not going to be that serious at the gaming table. The game master should do his part and take on different personalities as narrators. They, in turn, can denounce players and force or request a personality change – by complaint.

The core of the idea of ​​the tabletop game is to be able to experience your own scenarios in the style of a Monty Python story. It's not primarily about simply re-enacting the story of the Holy Grail. So you experience - more or less true to the original - adventures in the black humorous version of a medieval Britain.
