Pre-orders for Monster Hunter Rise are now open and the title will also be available with Xbox Game Pass for console, PC and cloud at launch.
Monster Hunter Rise is the latest installment in the action RPG series and takes players to the village of Kamura, a colorful and serene environment that attracts visitors with its unique culture and innovative hunting technologies. The core of Monster Hunter Rise's gameplay remains true to its critically acclaimed predecessors.
Hunters must equip their armor and choose one of 14 different weapon types to face off against fearsome foes. As players defeat monsters and progress through the game, items looted from fallen opponents can be used to craft unique weapons and armor that increase one's chances of survival. Hunters can tackle these challenges alone or with up to three other players in cooperative online play.
Monster Hunter Rise advances the series by introducing several new and exciting mechanics for the hunters to master. Wire-based grapple actions can be performed while standing or in the air with a “wirebug,” adding a whole new level of aerial maneuverability to hunting strategies and attacks. In addition, the game features the "Wyvern Riding" technique, which allows you to temporarily take control of a monster and experience spectacular combat sequences during the hunt. Monster Hunter Rise also introduces new hunting partners called Palamutes, personalized and rideable “Canyne” pets that offer players new ways to attack. The "Canyne" Palamute pets join the popular "Felyne" Palicos in the series and help with hunting.
Monster Hunter Rise features customizable optimizations that allow hunters to enjoy their journey in 4K resolution and 60 FPS on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, with added 3D audio support for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. Ranged - and shield weapons will also use the adaptive DualSense triggers on the PlayStation 5.
Monster Hunter Rise will be released on January 20, 2023 and is available for pre-order now. The game will also be available via Xbox Game Pass at launch.
Following the debut of Monster Hunter Rise, hunters can also look forward to the release of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, the monstrous expansion also coming to home console players in Spring 2023.
