Monopoly returns - again. Once again it is the publisher Ubisoft who is responsible for a video game implementation of the board game, which is rich in tradition but hated by frequent players. "Monopoly Madness", the title of the game, is a completely different interpretation of the classic.
On December 9th, Monopoly Madness will be available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Stadia, as well as for Windows PC via the Ubisoft Store - and additionally with a subscription to Ubisoft + on PC and Stadia. The idea: At Monopoly, this time the players go to the arena.
Mr. Monopoly does what he does best: take a vacation
Monopoly Madness competes to buy and improve real estate in Monopoly while Mr. Monopoly is on his well-deserved vacation. Up to 5 other players are played in shorter rounds, creating a fast-paced real-time race on the chaotic streets of Monopoly City, without the limitations of a game board.
Money and other resources are collected all over the map in order to buy and improve real estate. The more real estate someone owns, the more points they bring, which means that the players get closer and closer to the finish line in the race for wealth. Along the way, power-ups like bulldozers, jackhammers and more can be collected through community chests and used against opponents to gain an advantage. Still, players need to watch out for random events that can happen at any time and make every game session even more unpredictable.
20 new playable characters, inspired by the classic Monopoly game tokens, can be played in four unique environments with their own atmosphere and architecture. Including the iconic city divided into Night Life, Beach Town and Cozy Falls. Each environment has several levels and layouts, making a total of 20 different arenas available.
