With Archetype Entertainment, Wizards of the Coast has opened a new development studio that is now supposed to work on a science fiction brand. Initial information suggests a genuine single-player role-playing game - all the better that Wizards of the Coast was able to win two former bioware veterans to run the new studio: James Ohlen and Chad Robertson.

There isn't much information about Archetype Entertainment's debut film. Only that it is a single player gameRPG should act, could probably be true. The choice of studio management would fit. James Ohlen and Chad Robertson are two industry veterans taking over the management of the studio.
RPG experts develop RPG
Wizards of the Coast may have big plans. After Magic the Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons, the portfolio is now to be expanded to include another, albeit new, brand. The main theme this time: science fiction. The game is being developed by a newly founded studio, whose fortunes will be directed by Ohlen and Robertson.
James Ohlen was creative director at Bioware, among other things, responsible for Dragon Age: Origins and also involved in the development of other - from today's perspective - classics: Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights and Knights of the Old Republic. Chad Robertson takes over the operational management of Archetype Entertainment. He was involved in and worked on Anthem's live service Star Wars: The Old Republic. Bioware Austin left Robertson last November.
With the new title, Archetype Entertainment is not relying on a well-known Wizards of the Coast brand, but is developing something new. It should be a multi-platform RPG with a background story, the whole thing set in the sci-fi genre. If that reminds you of Mass Effect, you are not wrong. The new title could actually go in this gameplay direction based on the experience of the Bioware experts.
Meanwhile, Wizards of the Coast continues to push its way into the video game industry. After the release of Magic the Gathering: Arena, the release of Baldur's Gate 3, developed by Larian Studios, is also on the program.
