A new teaser has surfaced that could hint that new information about Metroid Prime could be revealed soon. Of course, you have to be cautious about the rumor, but the mere prospect of details about Metroid Prime is exciting.
Are fans finally facing new information about Metroid Prime? If you believe a recent rumor from a moderator of "GamingLeaksAndRumours", that could be exactly what happened. Accordingly, a "verified" leaker sent him a message asking if everyone was prepared. The rumor is getting a little closer to an actual revelation because a Reddit user also stated that the leaker also correctly predicted the official title of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
News fuels speculation
The alleged message could now be interpreted in many ways. Of course, fans primarily want details about Metroid Prime 4, which was announced more than five years ago, but then stalled as a development project. In 2019, Retro Studios took over the development - and since then there has been no official information about the game. The scene had long expected details and finally a release announcement.
There have been rumors about a remastered version of the Metroid Prime Trilogy for years. The alleged leak message could also be interpreted in this direction. Giant Bomb even previously reported that the release of the original Metroid Prime was on Nintendo Switch should have been released at Christmas time to celebrate the game's 20th anniversary with the release. That was obviously wrong. What happened in the winter season was: Nothing!
It remains exciting, also technically. Because: The remasters for the three Metroid Prime titles could even contain gyro controls thanks to the Nintendo Switch innovation. The improvements mentioned by Giant Bomb would be particularly interesting, especially in the first game compared to Echoes and Corruption.
"Insider Gaming" is also speculating that Nintendo Direct could soon be streaming a direct show. That's fueled by the discovery of a special edition OLED switch that takes the look from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Nintendo hadn't announced anything about this so far, so the unveiling is overdue.
The biggest bang may be looming here: According to other rumors, the new Zelda game will be the last major release for Nintendo Switch for the foreseeable future. According to Christopher Dring from "GamesIndustry", Nintendo then has no significant release in the pipeline for some time.
