Marvel's Midnight Suns will be released on December 2nd, but not yet for the last-gen consoles and the Nintendo Switch. Shortly before the release, the makers have now released a new trailer that reveals more details about the combat system.
Firaxis' Marvel's Midnight Suns is a turn-based role-playing game that focuses on the heroes of the Marvel Universe. The highlight: Actions are carried out by players with cards.
Marvel's Midnight Suns: The hype is real
Almost a week before the release of Marvel's Midnight Suns, the hype is picking up speed again. A new trailer now explains what fans can look forward to regarding the fights.
Players assemble a team of three heroes and then engage in turn-based combat against a variety of enemies ranging from the criminal organization Hydra to demons.
Instead of freely choosing abilities, players use hand cards that correspond to each hero. For example, you can use it to strengthen allies, attack in a bordered area, whirl enemies around, or deal direct damage to others. Particularly powerful attacks can also be triggered: Certain cards cost heroism. This resource builds up over time, ultimately leading to significant advantages in combat. This will also be useful tactically, as some heroes can speed up the resource regeneration process.
Outside of combat, you roam the abbey and team up with various team members. This helps, for example, to improve passive abilities that make heroes even more powerful.
Marvel's Midnight Suns will be released on December 2nd for Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC, with Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch versions coming later. There will be a "special" live stream on November 29th to celebrate the launch.
