All variants include the game mode "The Yard", which focuses on arcade-heavy games with mini-teams.
Since FIFA Volta, fast action sports have become fashionable again. Now draw Electronic Arts also with Madden NFL 21 and brings a corresponding arcade mode into the game. Fans can already try out the game mode in the mobile version Madden Mobile, which is now available in the app stores. At the end of August, “The Yard” will also be open to console players. Fans create their own avatar - a connection to the mobile game is possible - and compete against each other in small teams.
Madden NFL 21: The Yard is action football
The Yard game mode is all about fast, direct action - and style. Players take part in the matches with a specially created avatar. The focus is on fun: double passes, throws behind the back – if possible, there are moves on the backyard pitches that have no place on the lawn. "The Yard" is something like "Volta for NFL Madden". Two teams of six players compete against each other on the console – a solo mode and online co-op against computer opponents are available, but also head-to-head multiplayer in teams of one, two or even three players.
Such a mode is completely new for Madden. "The Yard is fast-paced, exciting, and most importantly, fun," says Madden producer Seann Graddy. "Players will amuse themselves with new gameplay mechanics on mobile and console to bring backyard football to life."
Obviously, of course, the otherwise rather rigid and fragmented rules of the NFL have been softened, compressed and simplified for arcade mode - it's about pure action, not a football game that is as realistic as possible. This is implemented, among other things, with completely new animations.

Style also plays a role in The Yard. There is a gear store where players can shop to buy new cosmetic items for their avatar. New items should always find their way into the store throughout the season. Madden NFL 21 was developed in Orlando, Florida by EA Tiburon and will be available worldwide on August 28th for Sony PlayStation 4, Microsoft Xbox One and PC via Origin and Steam.
