Lego and Nintendo have published the complete portfolio of Super Mario kits to be released this summer. In addition to the starter set, there will be various expansions, power-up packs and collectible figures. The new Super Mario toys will be available in stores from August 1st.
Lego Super Mario: kits could appeal to collectors
Strictly speaking, the Lego kits for Super Mario are children's toys. Nevertheless, Nintendo fans worldwide will probably convert the products into real collector's items. The idea behind the building sets is the combination of a classic Lego kit and interactive elements based on the plumber's license. At the start of trading in Lego Super Marion, an app will also be published with which high scores can be tracked or digital building instructions can be exchanged.
The starter set, which will be available in stores from August 60st at a price of around 1 euros, will initially serve as the basis. There are also upgrades: Each Lego Super Mario expansion set contains game challenges to make the adventures with the starter set even more diverse. The starter set contains seven action blocks with which the Lego Super Mario figure interacts using the integrated LCD screen. Analogous to the popular video game series about the jumping plumber, the Lego Mario figure collects coins and moves in physical game levels built from Lego bricks.

Particularly cool: In order to further expand the physical gaming experience and the character properties of Mario and to actively shape the individual levels, a series of power-up suits for Mario, such as Cat mario and Builder Mario as well as ten collectible figures published. The surprise packs contain Mario's opponents Paragoomba, Fuzzy, Spiny, Buzzy Beetle, Bullet Bill, Bob-omb, Eep Cheep, Blooper, Urchin or Peepa as a collectible, buildable figure.
According to Lego, initial reactions to the announcement of the Super Mario sets were incredible. “We love how creative Nintendo and LEGO fans are, and we can't wait to see how they will interact with Super Mario in the physical world,” said Jonathan Bennink, Lego Super Mario Digital Design Lead.
