SEGA's Sonic the Hedgehog is said to have been created as a counterpart to NINTENDO's Mario. The blue hedgehog was brought to life by Naoto Ōshima and went hunting for golden rings for the first time in 1991 in the game of the same name "Sonic the Hedgehog". Sonic rushed and rolled through the "Green Hill Zone" at high speed. As the name might suggest, a hilly, verdant video game world inspired by the California landscape. Even today, the Green Hill Zone appears regularly in the almost countless versions of the Sonic video games. That's what inspired British toastergrl, Viv Grannell, for the LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog Green Hill Zone building set, available tomorrow. The young woman submitted her sensational set idea to the LEGO Ideas platform and received 10.000 votes from other users.
The kit should contain 1125 components and be reminiscent of the pixelated graphics of the SEGA Mega Drive. In addition to a detailed design, the hobbyists should also expect a lot of Easter eggs. There are five minifigures included. It should be Sonic, Crabmeat, Moto Bug, Dr. Eggman with the Egg Mobile and the Phantom Ruby. In addition, there is a palm tree, a looping bridge and a spring with lever as well as everything fans need to build a vertical loop in the attractively colored packaging. There are also 10 boxes of golden rings, chaos emeralds and the corresponding display panels to present the prizes. Thanks to the technology lever, Sonic and his friends should be able to jump into the air to collect gold rings, just as the players are used to from the digital version. The dynamic LEGO set can be imaginatively adapted and modularly added to other Architecture sets. It should be ideal for playing and at the same time makes an excellent collector's item behind a glass door.
LEGO's Sonic the Hedgehog Green Hill Zone is age 18+. It is 17 cm high, 36 cm wide and 6 cm deep. According to the LEGO website, the costs are € 69,99.
