League of Legends: Wild Rift will be the next big release from Riot Games. In any case, the developers recently stepped on the gas to provide fans with new games. A trading card game started in April with Legends of Runeterra, now the release of Valorant follows. And there is also news about the mobile offshoot of the MOBA League of Legends - this time in the form of gameplay scenes.

Simply porting the successful MOBA League of Legends from the PC to the smartphone would not be possible without adjustments to the course of the game due to the complex handling. Optimizations therefore had to be made for League of Legends: Wild Rift - what they look like, the developers at Riot Games reveal in a new entry in their diary.

League of Legends: Wild Rift - controls with touch joystick

In the new “Dev diary” for League of Legends: Wild Rift it becomes clear how fans control their warriors on the smartphone or tablet, namely via buttons displayed on the screen. The characters can be moved using a touch joystick, the skills are triggered using buttons on the lower right edge. The control corresponds to the standard that is already known for mobile MOBAs from titles such as Arena of Valor.

The gameplay shown in the video suggests similar action-packed battles in the template. In terms of time, however, the games do not last as long as on the PC. While there average rounds last around 30 to 45 minutes, League of Legends: Wild Rift should be over halfway through this time. The reasons for this lie in the smaller maps and in the fact that players get faster at items with which they strengthen their heroes. The progress on the lanes benefits from this, as does the effectiveness in the team fights. Buffs, for example from different dragons, also increase the damage output. In addition, in the mobile version, the Nexus is not protected by towers as in the PC version. The last steps to victory should also be shorter.

The hero team available for the release of League of Legends: Wild Rift will be smaller than in the now fairly comprehensive template. The developers also make adjustments and changes to some heroes and their abilities. The mobile heroes will therefore not be exact copies of their “great role models”. In any case, Riot will gradually expand the line-up after the release of League of Legends: Wild Rift and give players access to more and more heroes.

Exciting: the first alpha test for League of Legends: Wild Rift begins on June 5th and then runs for two weeks - but in Brazil and the Philippines. I can already pre-register for the Mobile MOBA in the Google Play Store.
