A new game from Richard Garfield's series "King of Tokyo"

In King of Tokyo, players take on the roles of giant monsters in the style of Godzilla, battling for victory in Tokyo. The basic game in the series by Richard Garfield was first released in 2011 and has already received a second edition in addition to various expansions. Other standalone games in the series are King of New York and the cooperative King of Monster Island. Iello Games has already revealed some of the content of the new King of Tokyo Duel in a video trailer, which was announced for this year's SPIEL 2024 in Essen.
As with previous games in the series, different monsters with individual abilities can be selected. In addition to familiar symbols, new symbols can also be discovered on the dice shown. Apparently, with "destruction" and "popularity", there are new strategies that can lead to victory over Tokyo. Another familiar element are the cards shown, which can be acquired and give the monsters additional abilities or mutations.
In the basic version, King of Tokyo can also be played by two people. King of Tokyo Duel promises a new gaming experience especially for two people in an entertaining 20 minutes.
