Today, Ubisoft, the French National Center for Cinema and the Moving Image (CNC) and the Palace of Versailles announce that Just Dance 2024 Edition, the next installment in the most successful music video game franchise of all time, combines the 18th century with a modern pop twist completely new Just Dance map comes to life: A Night in the Château de Versailles.
The partnership between the CNC, the Palace of Versailles and Ubisoft was created as part of the “Cultural Olympiad” program. As part of the preparations for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris, the Cultural Olympiad program was launched by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to promote dialogue between sport and culture throughout its territory.
Baroque beats in the Versailles ballroom
In A Night in the Château de Versailles, players move through the world heritage site of the Palace of Versailles, delving into the beautiful gardens, Latona Fountain and majestic Hall of Mirrors to a modern pop arrangement of two Baroque pieces of music: Lully's “Marche Turque” (March for the Turkish Ceremony) and Rameau's “Les Sauvages” (The Wild Ones).
All aspects of A Night in the Château de Versailles, including the music, dancing, costumes and locations, mix historical authenticity with pop elements to create an extravagant party experience. The choreography, developed and designed in collaboration between Ubisoft and the Château de Versailles Spectacles department of the Palace of Versailles and with the support of CNC, combines modern dance steps with classical court dances.
Players can immerse themselves in the court of King Louis XIV in A Night in the Château de Versailles when the Just Dance 2024 Edition opens on October 24th Nintendo Switch, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S appears.
