Asmodee has announced a new card game in the Lord of the Rings universe – after a mini-teaser on Hobbit Day, the big surprise came delayed. The concept sounds exciting.
Since 1978, Hobbit Day has been celebrated annually – unofficially and in honor of the birthdays of Bilbo and Frodo Baggins. Asmodee On that day, the publisher had briefly hinted that a new game would be released. However, fans would only find out exactly what it was about the following day, the day after the big day. In the meantime, the publisher has let Baggins out of the game.
New product will be launched in January
“The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring – The Trick-Taking Game” is the name of the new Asmodee announced with a short video, among other things. Fans are once again heading to the world of Middle Earth and once again they are taking on the dark minions of the fantasy world. However, there is a nice twist to the classic trick-taking game concept: it is played cooperatively.
Players experience the card game loudly Asmodee the story of the first book of The Lord of the Rings trilogy. You meet characters from the world and have to complete tasks. The publisher itself classifies the card game as a family game.
The trick-taking game is aimed at up to four players, but can also be played alone. You will be able to experience 18 chapters, all embedded in the original story of JRR Tolkien. Particularly interesting in view of the essentially linear story: in the new trick-taking game, no two adventures are the same. The game is due to be released on January 17, 2025.
