But there is currently no reason for this: According to a rumor something could happen as early as November 6thOn that day, publisher Take-Two will hold its earnings call. Fans expect that the company will ensure that Grand Theft Auto 6 is once again a major topic of conversation. It is completely unclear whether an official release date will be announced, a trailer will be shown or details about gameplay features or the story will be revealed. Ultimately, it could also be that neither Rockstar Games nor Take-Two will comment at all. The latter is what players who are hoping for News about GTA 6 for this year. Fan theory: If nothing happens in 2024, the release will be postponed
For fans, a postponement would certainly be the worst case scenario at first glance. Officially, autumn 2025 is still considered the release window. They then take this as a sign that the previously officially communicated time frame in the second half of 2025 still stands. Fans should not put too much emphasis on the predicted "timelines," players warn. So far, there is a theory that the news schedule for GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 is used as a template to evaluate the development process of Grand Theft Auto 6. One fan states: "We could get a second trailer in April or May and the game could still be released in September or October." This objection is entirely justified, because game trailers do not necessarily have to appear particularly early, especially not for GTA 6. For one reason: the game is basically running out of competition.
Normally, the publication of teasers, trailers, screenshots and information is part of marketing. This is how players are made aware of a project and are excited about it. In the best case scenario, this leads to good sales figures. But this is not always the case, especially with AAAA games, because the reality after the release can quickly lead to disillusionment. At the moment, in the absence of any official information to the contrary, there is no reason to assume that the event will be postponed.
