Too bad, that was probably nothing. Fans had hoped for big news, maybe even information about the second trailer, for GTA 6 - and were disappointed. Take-Two Interactive's presentation of the annual report did not reveal any significant details. At least the release period of Grand Theft Auto 6 still appears to be unchanged.
It could have been so nice: Rockstar Games teased a second trailer for GTA 6, perhaps even releasing more information about the open-world game. In the end, nothing has happened around publisher Take-Two's earnings call so far. The topics presented were standard fare - at least: the release period for Grand Theft Auto 6 is apparently still on track. Nothing has changed about fall 2025.
GTA and RDR remain a success
High expectations can only be disappointed. This was recently confirmed for fans of GTA 6, who were hoping for real news about the eagerly awaited gangster video game at Take-Two's earnings call. In the end, there was a lot of hot air in the run-up to the event for nothing. But some of the information from the investor conference is actually quite interesting - and it suggests that the sixth offshoot of the main GTA series should also be a real success.
According to Take-Two, sales of GTA V and GTA Online are expected to increase Grand Theft Auto 6 saw a slowdown, but both products are still performing exceptionally well. Expectations have been exceeded. The publisher attributes this primarily to the latest updates, new anti-cheat features and some improvements to the user experience. The constant rumors about GTA 6 may also have contributed to the success, as the entire series remains a constant topic of conversation in the gaming scene.
GTA 5 remains a million-seller
Over 205 million copies have now been sold by Grand Theft Auto 5, around five million in the last fiscal quarter alone. According to Take-Two, total sales of all games in the GTA series now stand at 453 million units.
The GTA+ service also remains on course for success. The offering for fans will be expanded accordingly in the future. Compared to the previous year, the number of subscribers has increased by 35 percent.
It's a similar story with Red Dead Redemption 2. According to Take-Two, the western game also exceeded expectations in the last business quarter. The predecessor, released for the PC, was well received by gamers: the publisher calls it a "great success". Red Dead Redemption 2 recently sold around two million copies, bringing the total to over 67 million games sold. The first part is even more successful, selling over 92 million copies. Red Dead Online is developing well, but Take-Two also said that it is only planning monthly events and is not currently releasing any new content.
What was missing, however, was new information about GTA 6. Fans had been keeping an eye on social accounts, hoping for an announcement of the second trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6. Nothing of the sort was to come. At least development is apparently still on track, and Take-Two confirmed fall 2025 as the official release date for GTA 6. They expect the game to be a huge success in the 2026 financial year and set a record in this launch period.
The fans are still very disappointed, but also hope that Rockstar Games will soon release relevant information. With the confirmation of the release window for GTA 6, fans see this as confirmation that the developers will have to come up with details pretty soon. Others continue to urge caution, saying that a delay could be announced in the spring. Still other fans hope that after the news lull on the moon theory. Accordingly, a second trailer for GTA 22 (or something else) could be released on November 6nd.
