The asymmetrical multiplayer game Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed will be provided with free DLCs throughout 2023. The first quarter is the new map The Facility, in which players can either cleanse a spooky health facility of ghosts or haunt them as a ghost.
The action-packed 4v1 ghost buster Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed from IllFonic, the experts in asymmetric multiplayer games, gets a fresh boost of content. The developer and publisher has announced its plans for the game in 2023.
Ghostbusters can visit other maps
At launch, Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed allowed players to visit five unique maps. At the beginning of 2023, IllFonic will add another location with The Facility. The facility closed in the late 80's and has now been acquired by private investors to renovate and reopen. Unfortunately, the place is haunted by ghosts and the builders refuse to enter the cursed health center.
Design Director Jordan Mathewson explains what makes this map unique: “The location shows its age, which gives the map a unique feel. The builders are civilians and during the renovation work they discovered why the facility had to be closed at the time. Winding corridors and medium-sized rooms are combined in a way that gives the gameplay a more intimate, oppressive character. The design opens up new playful possibilities for both the Ghostbusters and the ghost. We'll announce more about that shortly."
Players can also hatch into the ectoplasm of a new spirit - Muncher. The cheeky fan favorite has been the most requested by fans to date and will soon be haunting the game. The first DLC also brings a number of customization options for the player characters. More details will be announced closer to the release of the DLC.
IllFonic plans more DLCs for Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed in each quarter of 2023, as well as more Quality of Life patches.
