The Taiwanese hardware manufacturer Asus uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus processor in the ROG Phone II. The company announced this today. The second version of the ROG gaming smartphone is the first globally announced implementation of the new 7nm processor.
Inside the new ROG Phone II will be Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 Plus. With this, the Taiwanese hardware manufacturer Asus wants to increase the gaming performance of the smartphone, among other things. The Qualcomm® KryoT 485 CPU is clocked at up to 2,96 GHz, offering "demanding performance," according to the company. The Adreno 640 graphics unit offers 15 percent faster graphics performance than the current Snapdragon 855 processor.
ROG Phone II from Asus with a powerful base
Asus Republic of Gamers (ROG) has announced the new ROG Phone II. It is the world's first gaming smartphone with the new Snapdragon 855 Plus processor. The basis for the improved new edition is provided by the previous model, which was presented for the first time last year. In the new version, the device should be equipped with additional innovative features.
However, Asus will only announce the exact specifications and details of the gaming smartphone in the coming weeks. "But it is already certain that the improved performance of the Snapdragon 855 Plus will catapult the overall performance to a new level," the company promises in the announcement.
The Kryo 485 CPU in the Snapdragon 855 Plus will run at up to 2,96 GHz. The Adreno 640 GPU is also clocked 15 percent faster than in the current Snapdragon 855 processor.
With this powerful base and new functions, Asus wants to show that the ROG Phones can meet the special requirements of mobile gaming. Asus does not only want to announce detailed information in the next few weeks, information on the price and availability of the ROG Phone II will only be published at a later, unspecified, point in time.
