"Games: The heart of pop culture" has been proclaimed as the main theme, which sounds bulky and somehow fits the new logo, which no longer represents color and diversity, but with its black and white doesn't want to fit the games sector at all , in which publishers recently focused on Pride and bright colors. And this year's trends sound anything but attractive: "Next generation of mobile gaming" and "Healthy through games" are the thematic focus. And then there are nor the prices. Anything that is fun is written in lowercase anyway at Gamescom (proper spelling: gamescom) - from the trade fair itself to events and arena to entertainment - and there are no hyphens anyway.
Despite all the criticism: Gamescom 2022 from August 23 to 28 in Cologne and online will probably still be a lavish party. Last but not least, the fans themselves, who have had to do without for a long time, should take care of it.
Gamescom 2022: fun in the event arena
After more than 500 exhibitors for Gamescom 2022 were announced at the beginning of July, including some top international companies like KRAFTON, Level Infinite (Tencent) and HoYoverse, who will be there for the first time with a stand in the entertainment area, further information will now follow : More exhibitors have been added since last week, the total number rising to over 550. Gamescom AMD, Funcom and ESL Gaming/Qualcomm will be providing entertainment in the event arena on different days, each with their own varied program. Four days of entertainment
One of the highlights of gamescom 2022 is the gamescom event arena. To ensure that it is located right in the heart of gamescom, it will be opened in Hall 6. For four days, fans can come and go without an additional ticket and experience the various events as they please. Planned events include:

With the main theme "Games: The heart of pop culture", this year's Gamescom is focusing on the particularly high cultural relevance of computer and video games. Because games are not only the most successful entertainment medium of our time, they are now also the heart of pop culture, which others are increasingly orienting themselves towards. In the past there was a film to go with the book, now there is a book to go with the game, fashion to go with the game and even dance to go with the game. The "next generation of mobile gaming" trend picks up on the current developments in smartphones as a gaming platform.
