Gamescom will not only take place online in 2022, but will finally take place again on site in Cologne. The indie area is also one of the most popular areas of the community. Thanks to strong partners such as the "Indie Arena Booth", "INDIE AREA HOME of INDIES" from FACTORY-C, as well as other group organizers, independent developers have more opportunities than ever for their presence at the world's largest event for computer and video games and Europe's leading business platform for the games industry, which will take place again in the Cologne exhibition halls and online from August 2022th to 24th, 28.
In the gamescom indie area, individual indies can use a stand area of up to 9 square meters via group organizers. Definitely there are the "North American Pavilion", the Romanian Game Developers Association (RDGA), GameUp! Rhineland-Palatinate and the indie publisher Hooded Horse. The Indie Arena Booth is a home for independent game developers from around the world. It is both a platform for developers and a showcase for the colorful and vibrant indie scene. The Indie Arena Booth aims to curate the best indie titles to expand the games and their stories and share them with both gamers and industry professionals. In 2019 the Indie Arena Boot won the Gamescom “Best Booth” Award, in 2020 the Heart of Gaming Award and the Special Jury Prize at the German Computer Game Prize.
