Gameplay for GTA 6? Just like that on TikTok? The mere idea that scenes from the game have been released and will remain there is hardly realistic. Fans quickly exposed the video as a fake.
Fans are eagerly awaiting gameplay for GTA 6. Almost a year after the release of the first and so far only trailer, players are hoping to Grand Theft Auto 6 that Rockstar Games will soon have some real news around the corner. In November could be the year, at least that's what some fans are speculating. Meanwhile, a video is circulating on the social media platform TikTok that supposedly shows a gameplay scene from the successor to the popular gangster game series. Disappointment follows quickly, because players with good eyes quickly exposed the snippet as a fake.
GTA 6 does not run on the Unreal Engine
At first glance, you could be fooled by the GTA 6 gameplay video. It shows a scene in an alley: colorful sports cars, graffiti, palm trees and white skyscrapers – similar scenes are already known from the first Trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6.
A delivery truck bearing an Amazon logo then appears on the left edge of the video. Did Rockstar Games actually acquire a license for this? Unlikely. Quite far-fetched, in fact. If the developers were to consistently follow through with this to offer players a realistic world, the costs would rise immeasurably. Moreover, it doesn't fit to the GTA series: We know that the games contain a lot of references to real brands, but that's about it. It's also now seen as a trademark for the series itself.

What's even more striking is what fans have also spotted. Some players have seen Unreal Engine 6 assets in the footage of the alleged GTA 5 gameplay video on TikTok (UE5 WorldGrid in the car). Grand Theft Auto 6 is not created on Epic Games' Unreal Engine 5. Instead, Rockstar Games is using a version of its own RAGE graphics engine.
Although someone put a lot of effort and love into the video, no gameplay from GTA 6 can be seen there. The snippet is not the first fake and will not be the last. Much more important for fans of the series is that Rockstar Games will soon be shining with real material, it is time for that after almost a year without news.
