Players who wanted to log into Fortnite in the past few days were only confronted with blackness, playfully nothing worked. Now fans around the world can breathe a sigh of relief: "The End" is officially over. Epic Games has heralded the second chapter of the successful shooter and, in addition to a new map, is also giving a completely new gameplay for water areas. Of course, there is also a launch trailer for Chapter 2 of Fortnite.
Fortnite brings Chapter 2 and the new season
A new card. More mountainous landscapes, more options for action in and on the water: all of this belongs to Chapter 2 of Fortnite. And even more: players can now also visit new locations, including a power plant.

More informationThat was around 30 hours Game not available, now Fortnite is back. Fans expect new, cool content after the forced break - and Epic Games could actually deliver. First an update to the current version is necessary, only then can it actually continue after the blackout. Mobile gamers download six gigabytes, PC and console gamers even more. The download size alone shows the dimensions of the shooter's evolution.
Probably responsible for the majority of the data volume is the new world map in Chapter 2. Instead of large land masses, the new map is interspersed with rivers and lakes. For gamers, these areas are quite interactive: you can fish for weapons, swim or take a boat trip there. The latter option in particular is team-friendly: several players can fit onto one of the watercraft at the same time, resulting in completely new attack tactics.
At least as important and also new is the possibility of shouldering and carrying wounded players. Exciting rescue operations apart from the pure "revival on site" will probably play out on the screens from now on. Epic Games, on the other hand, has not published exact details about all the innovations. The makers of Fortnite probably want players to be able to follow their urge to explore.

Otherwise, the game principle remains true to itself. Fortnite is still a battle royale shooter - 100 fans fight for survival per game, in a team or alone. Anyone who logs into chapter 2 is immediately pushed into a game. The first game takes place against bots. The season system from the first chapter remains. Fortnite is also staged over several seasons in "Chapter 2". The "Eleventh Season" runs from now until December 12th.
Anyone who has already invested real money in Fortnite to buy costumes should keep all items in Chapter 2, by the way. The V-Bucks are also retained and can still be used with Chapter 2. It should come as no surprise that items are on sale for sale just in time for the release of Chapter 2 in Fortnite.
