Bleak Sword DX brings 2023 immersive diorama-sized battles to PC and Switch. A PC demo of the fantasy action game has now also been announced.
Devolver Digital's quest to improve the sometimes-annoying commute with gaming distraction has (at least) byte-sized developer more8bit releasing its addictive lo-fi battler Bleak Sword DX later this year Nintendo Switch and PC (including Steam Deck!). Curious sword fans can try out the kinetic new demo during Steam Next Fest starting February 6th.
Miniature fantasy action
Bleak Sword DX is a dark, suspenseful (and at the same time) beautifully gruesome fantasy action game in which warriors must fight their way through compact, cursed diorama battlefields. Bleak Sword DX has been updated specifically for PC and Switch, adding new controls, three new game modes and numerous improvements to graphics and gameplay to the critically acclaimed Apple Arcade version.
In twelve exciting and atmospherically dense chapters, the heroes must lift the curse of the legendary Dark Sword by slaying all kinds of terrible creatures in an oppressive world with wild weapons and powerful magic.
This immersive experience features music by award-winning composer Jim Guthrie and sound provided by popular designer Joonas Turner.

DX includes all original Bleak Sword chapters plus the three DLC chapters with new level and enemy layouts. The Randomizer throws players into a remixed version of the original game where leveling up or reaching bosses in the correct order is not guaranteed. Boss Rush challenges fans to defeat all twelve bosses with just one health bar.
New attacks, parries and counters complement a streamlined control system designed specifically for PC and console - while improved enemy AI makes opponents more unpredictable at the same time.
New post-processing effects, adaptive depth of field and a range of filters give Bleak Sword DX a fresh coat of paint - while particle effects, foliage and weather enhancements bring new levels of atmosphere and immersion to the world.
