Gamescom will start the next round for private visitors on August 26, 2020. Many months will pass before the world's largest event for computer and video games begins, but the organizers are already announcing that two proven offers will also be there in the coming year: the opening show Opening Night Live by and with Geoff Keighley and the event -Arena.
Gamescom 2020 will take place from August 25 to 29, 2020, still in the halls of Koeln Messe GmbH. Those responsible already knew in March that the trade fair would stay in Cologne for the time being communicated. Now it is also clear that two popular formats will also be there next year. On the one hand, Geoff Keighley will again be present at the Cologne Games Fair with the show "Opening Night LiveOn the other hand, a varied supporting program will again take place in the so-called event arena.
Opening show: cooperation planned for years
The new opening show must have been so well received at the past Gamescom that the creators have already decided to bring the "Opening Night Live" to the stage again. Anyway it was Gamescom 2019 successful - it was even enough for a new, albeit close, visitor record. The organizers even want to work with Geoff Keighley for years to come as part of Gamescom: Opening Night Live.
The positive feedback from fans and industry experts has Gamescom-Organizers confirmed the impression that the opening show was a success. Around 1.500 visitors on site and millions more fans watched the new format via stream. "More than 500.000 viewers watched the live stream at the same time," said Gamescom.
Visiting the opening show is reserved for exhibitors and only a limited contingent of places is available for them. "All registered exhibitors at Gamescom 2020 have a chance to become part of the stage program of the opening event," said the organizers. In the coming year, world premieres will be presented again and celebrities will have their grand entrance.
On the public days from 26 to 29 August 2020, the location of the Gamescom: Opening Night Live will then be the Gamescom Event Arena, offering a varied programme for gaming fans from all over the world. eSports tournaments will be held there, games will be presented and a thematically appropriate fireworks display will be set off. Interested exhibitors of the Gamescom can now secure their slot in the Gamescom Vvent Arena.
