Electronic Arts is doing crazy things with Fifa 23. Thanks to a cooperation with Marvel, which EA has now officially announced, footballers come into play in the form of comic book heroes. The idea is crazy, as is the design of the players.
The rumor about a potential partnership between Electronic Arts and Marvel has already been circulating on the internet – now it's official. That sounds pretty strange, and it kind of is. What can fans expect? Hero cards inspired by Marvel Comics.
Heroic Hook: Ultimate Edition only
If you haven't pre-ordered Fifa 23 in the Ultimate Edition, you don't have to worry about comic heroes. The promotion applies to those who pre-order the expensive game version. As part of the World Cup in Qatar, there will be special FUT cards that some footballers will then show as superheroes.
According to Electronic Arts, there will be 21 players with the special design. Not all of them are known. Nevertheless, the publisher has already let the booklet take a look: Yaya Touré, Park Ji-Sung, Claudio Marchisio, Ricardo Carvalho and Landon Donovan. EA plans to release more information in the coming weeks.
But it shouldn't have been, as Electronic Arts officially confirms for Fifa 23. There will not only be football superheroes, but also plenty of trappings. Choreography, balls, jerseys and more are Marvel collaboration items for FIFA Ultimate Team mode. A comic book and stories written by Marvel are intended to bring the “new heroes” to comic heaven to life.
