Paradox Interactive today announced that Europa Universalis IV: Domination will be available on April 18, 2023. With the new expansion pack, players can lead the greatest empires in history. With the necessary foresight, they plot centuries-old plans to humiliate their enemies and create their own legend
In this expansion to Paradox Interactive's flagship historical grand strategy game, players will experience new historical aspects and decisions for many of Europa Universalis IV's most popular and powerful nations. New mission trees, historical government reforms, estate challenges and units provide more Variety and sometimes for difficult decisions as players have to choose a path in a branching mission, completely eliminating some possible rewards.
Europa Universalis IV: Domination includes new national mission trees and features for:
- The Ottoman Empire: A revamped Conquest tree with new rewards for advancing Ottoman dominance, including expansion with the new Eyalet system, and new internal changes such as the new Janissary Estate and the "Ottoman Power Struggle".
- China: Different mission trees for the Han Ming and invading empires like Qing. Players must choose between expansion and inner perfection, countering the power of the eunuchs to build a stable empire.
- Japan: Players can unite Japan by confronting the power of Shogun and the independent Daimyo. One can open the country to foreign influence or keep it isolated by rejecting other paths of expansion and reform.
- Russia: Players can liberate their country from the Tartar yoke and turn it into a great empire. With the election for Peter's reforms, the state will be modernized and with that, both the mission tree and the mechanics will change and evolve as the game progresses. To expand the empire to the east and west, the power of the Cossacks and Strelitzi can be used.
- Spain: Expanded mission trees for Castile and Aragon, with different ways to shape Spain, new mechanics for the new government of the "Hispanic Monarchy" and decisions about the army and navy to get the mighty Tercios and the Spanish Armada.
- France: Players fight towards the end of the Hundred Years' War, centralizing France into an absolute monarchy while grappling with the Wars of Religion, expanding into Italy and the Holy Roman Empire, and leading the revolution through an expanded mission tree.
- Britain: A path must be taken, either for a British Empire or an Angevin Britain. Also, Great Britain includes deeper internal gameplay, with unique features for the English Parliament and changes to the English Civil War disaster.
- Smaller Nations: Mission changes, new governments, new government mechanics and increased play value for Prussia, Portugal and Korea.
Domination also includes new artwork and music, a rich array of new historical details, and adds new tasteful estates, reforms, special units and events for the leading powers. Additionally, there will be an update of the game, free for all Europa Universalis IV players.
Players who pre-order Domination will also receive the March of Power Music Pack, featuring six new tracks to accompany their conquests.
