iam8bit and Skybound Games, along with Coin Crew Games, announce Escape Academy, a puzzle video game designed to capture "the authentic escape room experience." The interactive puzzle that brings the teamwork and time pressure of an escape room into the living room will be released in June for PC, Xbox and Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation.
iam8bit and Skybound Games have teamed up with the creative minds at Coin Crew Games to release Escape Academy. Escape Academy is one of the first video games to capture the authentic escape room experience and invites players to follow in the footsteps of extraordinary escapists. To do so, they must make their way through a variety of team-based exploration and time-crunching challenges specifically designed to bring the mystery, intrigue, and fun of escape rooms to players' homes.

Co-founded by Wyatt Bushnell and Mike Mohammed Salyh, Coin Crew Games has a long history of developing real-world experiences that combine immersive gameplay with a strong focus on group interaction. Bushnell has designed attractions for amusement parks and arcades, including the tech-focused Two Bit Circus with huge escape rooms in Los Angeles, and Salyh has designed games for Disney, Zynga, and Two Bit Circus. Wyatt and Mike became business partners after being commissioned to develop an IRL escape room experience together.
"Our goal has always been to bring people together to play, whether it's in arcades or at home," said Mike Mohammed Salyh, co-founder of Coin Crew Games. "As a studio, we're rigorous about testing our designs early and often - a philosophy we've inherited from our years developing games for the local entertainment space."

iam8bit is adding game publishing to its repertoire and Escape Academy is the first original title to be published as part of iam8bit Presents.

In a secret world, players will be drawn into the mysteries of Escape Academy, a training center for those with rogue skills suited to the "Art of Escape." These new recruits must make their way through deadly challenges posed by mad and charismatic professors to earn their place among the legendary Escapists. Filled with shocking twists and turns, players will navigate rooms where the stakes are high and ultimately uncover a threat they never imagined.
Escape Academy will be available this June upon release on Xbox Game Pass and for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
