Who is the best healer in Dragonflight? Damage alone does not make a raid or dungeon run successful in World of Warcraft: In addition to the tanks, it is above all good healers who decide about victory or defeat, especially in tough boss fights.
Too much data is not available from the beta and pre-patch phase. However, one can work with the already published numbers in connection with the consideration of talent changes: Also in the "Heal" area - analogous to the Damage dealers in the new addon - Predict which specializations are considered the best healers.
World of Warcraft: Dragonflight reshuffles cards
The new expansion also reshuffles the cards regarding the best healing classes in Dragonflight. Apparently something is happening at the top position, because the druid has been replaced – at least for the time being. The ranking of the best healers in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight is anything but set in stone, because the developers are particularly critical when the expansion starts look at the statistics and make changes if necessary.
WoW: Dragonflight – Heal Ranking |
S Tier: Holy Priest A Tier: Restoration Druid, Mistweaver Monk, Preservation Caller B Tier: Restoration Shaman, Discipline Priest, Holy Paladin |
In the S tier, the holy priests dominate in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight. There is currently no other healer who can beat them in terms of healing output - the cloth carriers are even far ahead of the restoration druids, who have so far held the top position among the best healers in World of Warcraft.
The Holy Priest convinces with excellent group healing abilities and efficient synergies with the new talent structures. The simple rule of thumb: the "Holy" simply gets better at what it does.
The HPS values of the Holy Priest are currently well above those of the rest of the healing classes. Especially with the minimum healing output. At the same time, it becomes clear that both the Restoration Druid and the Restoration Shaman approach a similar maximum, but on average the Holy Priest is ahead.
Surprisingly, the discipline priest, who is classified in the B tier of the best healing class in Dragonflight, causes outliers – the minimum and maximum for him are far apart. So there is an opportunity here to have a particularly positive influence on efficiency through personal skill.
The Holy Paladin seems to have almost been knocked off. He'll still be able to continue to play his role as an excellent tank healer.
What does the Evoker do?
And what about that Preservation Caller, so the healing specialization of the new Dracthyr race? That remains to be seen. However, there are many indications of an efficient and fun healer that can easily make it among the best healers in Dragon Flight. Here, too, personal playstyle and perfect positioning seem to be decisive factors, because: with a range of 25 meters, the preservation caller has an obvious disadvantage compared to the classic healers. He can cover a little less than half the healing area of a Holy Priest, so he needs to move a lot more to heal the party efficiently.
The preservation caller may even have a special position as a healer for melee fighters. With its reduced range and its type of healing spells, it could not only reach the "Knubbel" from melee fighters well, but also keep it alive efficiently. World of Warcraft: Dragonflight seems to change the healer setup with the Evoker in the long term.
Numbers are one thing, the feel of the game is quite another. Despite a comparatively clear prognosis, many current healers are still undecided as to which class they will start the expansion with. The reason is simple: all talent trees promise fun and invite you to experiment.
