Disney Lorcana: Start of sales in Germany is fixed

The first set of the new trading card game "Disney Lorcana" from Ravensburger will appear from August 2023 in Germany, the USA, Canada, Great Britain, France, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. This is announced by the publishing house Ravensburger.

Ravensburger is launching the trading card game in Germany in two steps. Disney Lorcana: The First Chapter will feature a range of products and accessories featuring both original and reimagined popular Disney characters. The game is suitable for newcomers, experienced trading card players, Disney fans and collectors alike.

Disney Lorcana: Four sets per year

In Germany, the first Disney Lorcana set will appear on August 18th in “specialist toy stores”, Ravensburger announced. The start of sales will then be accompanied by a program for organized play. From September 1st it will also appear in other stores.

Disney Lorcana: The First Chapter will contain more than 200 playing cards - you can collect the cards through three starter decks, booster packs, a gift set and the "Illumineer's Trove".

Ravensburger is also creating additional incentives for collectors to "let the players delve even deeper into the world of Disney Lorcana". It will launch themed and illustrated playmats, card sleeves, deck boxes and binders. With this portfolio, Ravensburger is orienting itself towards what it also does for various third-party providers Magic - The Gathering or what the accessory manufacturer Gamegenic has brought onto the market specifically for Fantasy Flight Games products. 

In any case, Ravensburger seems to want to position itself well right from the start - and is pursuing a strategy that trading card fans should know from other similar games.

The Starter Decks consist of a balanced set of cards that allows players to get started right away. There are three different Starter Decks, each containing 60 cards in two of the six "Ink" colors - Amber and Amethyst, Emerald and Ruby, and Sapphire and Steel. The Starter Decks also contain a Booster Pack and tokens. Each booster pack consists of twelve random playing cards, including one foil card and two rare, epic, or legendary rarity cards.

The gift set includes two oversized foil trading cards and two playable foil cards themed "Mulan - Imperial Soldier" and "Hades - King of Olympus". Also included are four booster packs and markers. The Illumineer's Trove will be the definitive introduction to Disney Lorcana: The First Chapter. It contains eight booster packs, two deck boxes, and a player's guide in a themed storage case.

Disney Lorcana: The First Chapter will be available in English, German and French depending on the market. Four sets are released each year.
