Disney Lorcan is going into the next round: As a trading card game, Ravensburger's successful title relies on regular new releases. Now the publisher has announced the next set from Disney Lorcana, "Azure Sea". Ravensburger has also announced details of the upcoming European and North American championships.
There will be a number of new features, including characters from "Chip and Dale: Rescue Rangers" and "Baymax: Big Hero 6", who will be appearing for the first time in the new set of the Disney Lorcana trading card game. In keeping with the upcoming holidays, a new collector's gift set is also being launched: it revolves around the cheeky alien Stitch, who is as popular with fans as he is popular.
The new card set for Disney Lorcan, “Azure Sea”, will be available initially in Organized Play Stores from November 15, 2024 and in stores from November 27, 2024.
Ravensburger: Great brand management
Glimmers of both pirates and inventors from across the Disney universe are the focus of the new "Azure Sea" set, as they set sail to repair the Great Illuminarium. To master the dangers in "Azure Sea", characters from Disney's "Baymax: Giant Hero" join the "Disney Lorcan TCG”, including Baymax, Hiro Hamada, Honey Lemon, Wasabi, GoGo Tomago and Fred. In addition, the popular characters Chip and Dale, Trixie, Samson and Summi from “Chip and Dale: Rescue Rangers” make their debut in the new set.
Repairs to the damaged Great Illuminarium are still incomplete after Skylight, so the Luminari set out to save it. Along with their seafaring Glimmers, they embark on a perilous journey across the Azure Sea to find the owner of the hidden Inkshaper discovered in Ursula's Return. The Glimmers can only hope to meet experienced Luminari who can teach them the skills needed to repair the Great Illuminarium. Their only clue in this quest is a mysterious owl symbol engraved on the base of the hidden Inkshaper, which matches a symbol on the maps of the Azure Sea. Meanwhile, Jafar, still determined to rule the realm, searches for the other half of the mighty Hexwell Crown.
New card sets and accessories in stores
All cards in “Azure Sea” can be used to update existing “Disney Lorcana TCG” decks and can be used with all previously released sets: “The first chapter","Rise of the flood figures","The Inklands","Ursula's Return" and "skylights“ can be played.
The Disney Lorcana TCG set "Azure Sea" contains two starter decks with combinations of the ink colors ruby/amber and sapphire/emerald (€19,99), as well as booster packs with twelve random cards (€5,99), a new Luminari treasure chest (€54,99) and a new Stitch-themed gift set (€49,99). The new accessories include two play mats in the design of the cards "Elsa - The Fifth Spirit" from Disney's "Frozen" and "Donald Duck - Buccaneers". Also hitting shelves in time for the holidays is the Stitch Collector's Gift Set (€49,99). The set includes a Stitch-themed collector's album, four Azure Sea booster packs, and a unique Stitch: Alien Pirate promo card featuring a stunning water-inspired foil treatment—the first time this type of foil treatment has been used in the Disney Lorcana TCG.
Disney Lorcana Challenge
The Last D23, the Disney Lorcana team shared information about the upcoming North American and European championship events with:
