Diablo 4 is still on the way to release - development is apparently progressing despite the recent personnel changes. This is now shown in the current quarterly report that Blizzard has published for the next part of the Diablo series. It's even impressive - or the game zones of the open world. They are the focus of the new gameplay videos.

After the recent turbulence in the development process, the new quarterly report is nothing less than a signal for fans that Diablo 4 is still in active development and that the team is also making progress.

Diablo 4: Zones of the World in focus

Quarterly, the developers publish information and news about Diablo 4 - this was the case again this March. This time the update is primarily about the game zones of the open world of Diablo 4 and they are quite impressive. The dark and, compared to previous parts of the Diablo series, much less colorful style of the surroundings is particularly evident in the sequences.

Blizzard has big plans for Diablo 4 in particular for the open game world: The developers are designing the world of Sanctuary as a connected map with five different regions. Each game area has its own style and secrets to be discovered, among other things. The highlight should be: It is up to the players themselves to make their way through the world, so Blizzard will probably make significantly fewer specifications than in the hose-like game environments of previous Diablo parts. Blizzard's environmental artists hold their creative hands across the environments to ensure the handcrafted locations are "distinctive and immersive," according to creative director Matt McDaid.

In the current quarterly update, Blizzard introduces the coastal region of Scosglen, the mysterious Orbei Monastery and the medieval settlement of Kyovashad.

And now there are also details about Diablo 4 that affect the scope of the action role-playing game. According to Blizzard, over 150 dungeons will be included in the game - as usual, these will be randomly generated. Several videos impressively show what fans of Diablo 4 can look forward to:
