Almost 15 years after the release of the original version of Devil May Cry 3 - Dante's Awakening, the special edition is now making its way to the Nintendo Switch.
The series now has five parts, three light novels, a manga and an anime series and numerous fans. Devil May Cry has made a name for itself since 2001, in which the first part of the series appeared, and is still popular - even on newer consoles. Reason enough for Capcom to bring a new edition of the Special Edition of Devil May Cry 3 to the Switch.
How it all began Or: brother against brother
Dante's Awakening tells the story behind Devil May Cry: Dante's twin brother Virgil plans to open a gate to the realm of demons. This must be prevented before the demons overrun the world. The story not only contains the showdown of both brothers, but also a few insights into the background of the series: the beginnings of Dante's shop, for example, or references to the name of the series.
There is a “style” -based combat system that suits the strategists among the fighters: Six options each bring different skills with them, and preferred attacks can be upgraded with increased special attacks.
In contrast to the original version, Dante and his brother Virgil can also be played in the Special Edition, although this does not change the plot itself. In addition, 9.999 floors are playable in the Bloody Palace survival mode.
Parts one and two of the series are already available digitally from the Nintendo eShop. Dante's Awakening in the Special Edition will be released on February 20, 2020, also as a digital download.
