The German Developer Award (DEP) announces the nominated games and their development teams for this year's award ceremony on December 9th. From a total of 140 submissions, the jury selected the best games and teams of the year in 15 categories.
The award ceremony will take place on Thursday, December 9th, from 20 p.m. in the auditorium of the Cologne Game Lab at the TH Köln as well as in the live stream on www.deutscherentwicklerpreis.de and www.rocketbeans.tv. Due to the ongoing corona pandemic, the award ceremony will take place as a 'hybrid event'. In the on-site audience, only the nominees and guests of honor can cheer.
Exclusive happening under corona rules
The German Developer Award is the oldest award for the development of outstanding games from German-speaking countries and has been awarded since 2004. The German games industry therefore looks excitedly at the list of nominees of the DEP jury every year. The prize is awarded in a total of 15 categories. 71 experts from the specialist juries determine the winners in 12 categories.
The 'Grand Jury' of 147 members entitled to vote decides on the awards in the categories “Best Game”, “Best Studio” and “Best Publisher”. Hot contenders for an award this year are the games "A Juggler's Tale" with six nominations, "Minute of Islands" with five nominations and with three nominations each "Can't drive this", "Dorfromantik", "Omno" and " Suzerain ".
