Starting April 16, 2020, solo players can immerse themselves in the world of Cyberpunk 2077. Now CD Projekt Red has officially announced that the role-playing game will also get a multiplayer mode, not directly at the release, but later. When exactly that will be, the developer and publisher has not given any more precise information. Also not about whether the multiplayer mode for Cyberpunk 2077 could possibly appear in 2020.

It's official: fans no longer have to play Cyberpunk 2077 alone. After an announcement via Twitter, it is clear that the futuristic action role-playing game will be expanded to include a multiplayer mode. However, this will not be the case immediately after the release on April 16, 2020: First, new content will be made available for solo players, and only then will “multiplayer action” follow.

So far, little was known about a multiplayer mode in Cyberpunk 2077. CD Projekt Red had confirmed that technical tests were being carried out in this regard, but it was not known whether these would actually result in the release of a multiplayer mode. Now the cat is out of the bag: Cyberpunk 2077 can also be played with several players.

Even if the official announcement should please fans: CD Projekt Red has not announced more than that. There is just as little an exact release date for the multiplayer part as there is a roughly delimited period. In any case, the variant will take place after the first DLC has been released.

Also about possible content, such as whether it is There will be PvP deathmatches in Cyberpunk 2077 or an open world, no further information was given. It is likely, however, that CD Projekt will announce more information as the release approaches.

Cyberpunk 2077 is based on the tabletop game Cyberpunk 2020 and is set in a dystopian future. The video game will be released this April for PC, Xbox One and Playstation 4. Later a release for Google Stadia is also planned.
