Has content been removed from Cyberpunk 2077? According to rumours, that's exactly what happened. A supposed developer had stated that content had to be deleted in order to be able to meet the set release date. The deleted content will be released later via DLC. Now the developers, CD Projekt Red, take a stand and deny it because "the story just isn't true."
The developers have commented via Twitter on the rumors that an alleged developer of CD Projekt Red had published on Reddit. This "developer" wanted to remain anonymous. He stated that entire quests and around 2077 lines of dialogue had been deleted from Cyberpunk 50.000 in order to be able to meet the release date. A sequence in Night City is said to have fallen victim to the scissors. And Keanu Reeves aka Johnny Silverhand was only a kind of emergency solution, actually the actor Cillian Murphy (Batman, among others) should have served as a template for an even cooler character.
Cyberpunk 2077: developers deny history
According to the alleged developer, the missing content should have been submitted later through DLC by early summer 2021. In the meantime, the "real developers" have taken action and have spoken out on Twitter about the rumors surrounding Cyberpunk 2077, although they would not normally comment on these situations. They make an exception because "the story just doesn't add up," according to CD Projekt Red. A clear denial from the developers. The short-term plans for Cyberpunk 2077 have recently been set: Two comprehensive updates will be rolled out in January and February, which are intended to correct the most serious errors at the moment.
Owners of last-gen consoles are particularly affected, namely the Xbox One and Playstation 4: Players are increasingly reporting errors and frame rate drops, and some Cyberpunk 2077 is even said to be “unplayable”. Shortly after the release in mid-December, CD Projekt Red had to fight storms of anger, in the meantime US law firms filed lawsuits and Sony took the game out of the PS store.
Normally we don't comment on rumors but this time we wanted to make an exception as this story is simply not true.https://t.co/JuOTY2qJbM

In the meantime, the action role-playing game has become much quieter, probably also because the developers keep making it clear that they are working on improvements and have released a few patches in the meantime. In the meantime, Cyberpunk 2077 is also being praised far more often by console gamers, especially for its quest design and story - more and more gamers seem to be accepting visual losses as long as the role-playing game runs free of crashes on the last-gen consoles.
CD Projekt Red has announced the first official DLC on the game's official website. The download content will be released at the beginning of the year. However, it is still unclear what the DLC will be about: there is not even a hint of what content the expansion will include. "More information on this soon," is the announcement from the developers. Due to the current commitment, it can be assumed that CD Projekt Red will only publish small additional content, because the majority of the capacities will be used for the development of the upcoming patches, but the team could make the players forgiving and want to surprise them: maybe even with new quests ?
Cyberpunk 2077 is currently available for Playstation 4, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia. Versions for Xbox Series X | S are to follow in 2021, as is a multiplayer mode.
