Details about Sid Meier's Civilization VII were revealed during the Gamescom Opening Night Live and the Gameplay Showcase, which highlighted the new features. The announcement also featured Gwendoline Christie ("Game of Thrones," "Star Wars“) as the game’s new narrator in a captivating live-action trailer.

The announcement was part of a series of revelations that also included a first look at the gameplay and a more than 20 minutes of gameplay presentation were featured in the new features and innovations in Sid Meier's Civilization VII.
Sid Meier's Civilization VII will be released in three editions: Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition and a limited-time Founders Edition. There will also be a limited Collector's Edition that includes physical collectibles for the game.

2K and Firaxis also have an official live-action trailer with Gwendoline Christie for the upcoming release of Sid Meier's Civilization VII and reveal that she will be the official narrator of the game. The actress is best known from Game of Thrones and Star Wars.
In the trailer, Christie walks through a dark and enigmatic facility with cylindrical displays that branch upward. Each display tells a story about humanity as Christie explains how "throughout history, ordinary people have done extraordinary things." She highlights the limitless potential of human ingenuity, dreams and hope, and at the end challenges viewers to "build something you believe in."
