The jury of the German game graphics award GRAF LUDO has made its decision and published its shortlist: With Ghosts by Rainer Knizia, a novelty from AMIGO has also made it onto this year's list. Roberto Freire, the illustrator of the Ghosts card game, now has the chance to be awarded Count Ludo for the “Most Beautiful Family Game Graphics”.
Ghosts must first compete against five other nominees on the Family Game Graphics shortlist to be eligible for nomination selection. This will be announced in July.
Award ceremony on August 20th
The winning games for Best Kids & Family Game Graphics will be announced on August 20th. Finally, on September 30th, the prize worth 1 euros will be presented at the modell-hobby-spiel. This year, for the 000th time, the Leipzig Trade Fair is awarding the prize for “aesthetically appealing, exciting and associative design”.

With Ghost, five more titles in the category "Best Family Game Graphics" are on the shortlist: Hungry Monkey, The Wandering Towers, Meadow - In the Realm of Nature, Canvas and Glow.
In a second category, the illustrations of children's games are awarded. Placed are: Monkey Kiss & Coconut, The Villa of the Vampires, Octopus at the Tailor, Unlock! Kids and troll you!.
However, the place on the selection list does not mean that Graf Ludo has been nominated for the actual award ceremony. Unlike the game of the year Selection and nomination take place in two phases. Three games from each category will be nominated from the shortlist and will be published in July.
