Giant Roc wants to publish Bone Wars in a standard and a deluxe edition in German.
Beginning in 1877, US paleontologists Cope and Marsh engaged in a relentless competition, with both men using every method imaginable to outdo each other: bribing teams, stealing bones, even damaging and destroying excavation sites. They also tried to damage their rival's reputation with scientific publications. Author Wim Goossens takes up this topic in the strategy game Bone Wars, the name under which the dispute went down in history.
Hunt for dinosaur bones
The game combines elements such as hand card management, worker placement and multi-purpose cards into a challenging strategy mix in which up to four people each lead a team of paleontologists. With this they travel through different US states, dig for fossils and discover new species of dinosaurs.
They then use the new knowledge to support the scientific camp to which they belong with their published theories or to refute the theories of the other side. However, since their following is not set in stone, they can also switch sides when it suits them.
