As Gearbox Entertainment has announced, a tabletop RPG based on the loot shooter Borderlands will be released in early 2021. Under the title “Bunkers and Badasses”, the developers, together with Nerdvana Games and Leder Games, bring a role-playing game onto the market that illuminates the world of Pandora from a completely new perspective. The Borderlands tabletop RPG is already available for pre-order.

The real highlight: The tabletop RPG is a game based on a game within a game. “Bunkers and Badasses” came into play as part of the DLC Tiny Tina's Storming of the Dragon Fortress for Borderlands 2 and is the Dungeon and Dragons version of Pandora. From the beginning of 2021, fans - like Tina, Lilith, Mordecai and Brick in the video game - will also be able to plunge into the adventure, but not in front of the screen, but in the classic way on the home gaming table.

As if Borderlands weren't crazy enough as a video game, Gearbox Entertainment, Nerdvana Games and Leder Games add a shovel to it. The publishers turn an in-game idea into a real game, simply reversing the concept from Borderlands 2. In the DLC Tiny Tina's Storm on the Dragon Fortress, players were named to play characters in the in-game tabletop offshoot “Bunkers and Badasses”. Now players are actually allowed to re-enact the idea and control the characters that they controlled at the time. Understood?

With “Bunkers and Badasses” fans can get to know Pandora, the world from Borderlands, from a completely new perspective. You slip into the role of one of ten new Vault Hunters, each with their own skill trees, which are based on the loot shooters Borderlands 1 and 2.

Two different versions are available, a standard set for around 60 US dollars and a deluxe edition, which costs around twice as much, but is richly equipped. The base game includes the official rulebook for “Bunkers and Badasses” and thus various adventures that players can tackle - including the original story from Tiny Tina's Storming of the Dragon Fortress.

The deluxe edition is far more comprehensive and contains miniatures of the Vault Hunters as well as standees of opposing figures, as well as a battle map and other helpful elements that visualize the game and thus make it easier, especially for beginners. The tabletop RPG for Borderlands will be released in early 2021, The sets can be pre-ordered already - and a discount campaign for the deluxe version is running until the end of September.
