Nationwide actions against xenophobia
The nationwide campaigns, which are running on social media under the hashtag # SpielendfürToleranz, are intended to set an example against xenophobia. The campaign is supported by the Spiel des Jahres association.
"We are pleased to have found a partner in the CVJM Neviges with whom the campaign can be implemented directly in our place of residence," comments André Volkmann, who founded the blog together with Anne Marie-Christine Volkmann. "The campaign is aimed at everyone who likes to play and has fun getting to know new games and people," says René Görtz, youth leader of the YMCA.
Current board and card games for different age groups are offered on Friday, which are easy to learn and can also be played without language skills. In addition, the organizers will offer two “trial rounds” for pen-and-paper role-players.
In addition to popular children's games such as "Panic Mansion", "Ice Cool" or "Funkelschatz", the playable titles will also include family-friendly board games, including the titles "Azul" and "Kingdomino" from Pegasus Spiele, which were awarded the "Game of the Year" critics' prize and "Quirkle" by Schmidt Spiele. On the other hand, visitors can prove their skills in a round of "Klask", with which the publisher Game Factory has achieved lasting success.
