The third edition of the board game Betrayal at House on the Hill, published by Avalon Hill, receives an expansion all about werewolves with “Blood of the Moon”. With the "Werewolf's Journey" it should be scary again in the horror board role-playing game.

Three to six players are in the base game Betrayal at House on the Hill in a haunted house. There are many dangers, in sales also from your own group of players. The board game with the traitor mechanism won the US Origins Award (Gamers Choice) in 2004, a game prize from the Academy of Adventure Gaming Arts and Design (AAGAD). There are different scenarios.

The werewolves are coming

At Betrayal at House on the Hill there are different scenarios, such as zombies or an alien invasion. The third version of the board game is still fresh: this year the title was released with illustrations by Henning Ludvigsen (including Arkham Horror, Blood Rage and Star Wars: Imperial Assault). It's great fun, especially thanks to the clever traitor mechanism that only comes into play as the game progresses.

The horror is not just an external element, but gradually comes from within the player group itself. With the new expansion The Werewolf's Journey: Blood on the Moon, players can choose a new character at the table: Sara.

True to the expansion's title, this isn't just a regular teenager. Sara has a secret - she can turn into a werewolf. The new expansion for Betrayal at House on the Hill includes two new miniatures and five specially themed locations to tie in the werewolf story. There are also four playing cards, two room tiles and a scenario card. According to Hasbro and Avalon Hill, The Werewolf's Journey: Blood on the Moon expansion will be released in October this year as a fall novelty. This is genuine additional content - the basic game is therefore absolutely necessary.

Betrayal at House on the Hill is a connoisseur game for three to six players aged around twelve and up. In this country, the board game was published in German. The price is around 40 euros, but there is a more than decent entertainment value.
