Publisher Avalon Hill has announced that it will bring a card game to the cooperative board game Betrayal at House on the Hill onto the market: Betrayal – Deck of Lost Souls, which will be available in March.

The Haunted House horror experience will also be available in pocket format from spring, when the card game will appear as a spin-off of the original under the title Betrayal – Deck of Lost Souls. Avalon Hill announced the title on the “X” platform.
Cursed card game
Avalon Hill plans to release further information in February. This is also urgently needed, because so far there are hardly any details worth mentioning about the card game. The publisher describes the idea as a speedrun of chaos and terror, which at least suggests a short game round duration - not unusual for a card game. In any case, the game should remain “cursed” even in the smaller format.
It can be assumed that Betrayal – Deck of Lost Souls could play like a light version of the board game. There, a group of players experiences a scary adventure in a cursed mansion with a confusing spatial concept. The group explores the house on the hill, collecting clues until someone becomes a traitor through supernatural powers. Betrayal at House on the Hill, which starts out as a purely cooperative board game, ultimately turns out to be semi-cooperative, which creates an additional moment of tension.
What is known about the card game - in addition to the few bits of information - is the pack of the game. The box of Betrayal - Deck of Lost Souls shows an old tree and a raven, so the mystical basic theme will probably serve the title. The card game is aimed at three to five game fans.
Fans of the board game should be happy about the new release, after all, despite its great popularity, Betrayal at House on the Hill was quiet for a long time.
